AWS

Scalable cloud services from compute and storage to container registry.

What is AWS?

AWS is the most comprehensive cloud platform there is, covering practically every need from raw compute and storage to containers, databases and AI services. That breadth is a blessing and a curse at once. You find the right building block for any requirement, but you have to navigate hundreds of services to land on it. What makes AWS so strong is its maturity and availability. The platform runs in many regions worldwide and has seen almost every load pattern before.

How we use it

We reach for AWS when your project needs reliable, scalable infrastructure that grows alongside you. Static hosting on S3 with CloudFront in front, containers on ECS or small logic in Lambda, whatever fits the project. Especially when demands around region, compliance or specialised services run high, AWS is often the choice that closes the fewest doors for you.

bash
aws s3 sync ./dist s3://my-site \
  --delete \
  --cache-control "public, max-age=31536000, immutable"
sync a folder to s3 with the aws cli

Good to know

The biggest cost trap is rarely compute, it is data transfer out of AWS. Plan traffic-heavy paths early and set up a budget alarm, otherwise the first bill will surprise you.
