n8n is a workflow automation tool that connects your applications through an approachable visual editor, often with no programming at all. A flow starts from a trigger, such as a webhook or a schedule, and then passes the data step by step through connected nodes. Unlike closed services it can be self-hosted, so your data stays under your control and no calls are billed per step. Where a node falls short, you simply drop a piece of JavaScript into a function node.
